Is it worth upgrading from a X1650 PCI express video card to something like a GT 220?

have a windows vista E6600 dual core computer with x1650 video card ( PCI-e).

was thinking of getting a GT 220 or something similar that would run on my 300 watt power supply....

is it worth upgrading? anyone have a better video card suggestion?|||Put it this way, there is no application or game you will be able to run with the GT 220, that you can't run with the X1650.

As for performance between the two in a given application or game, while the GT220 as a much greater Memory clock speed, their core clocks are about the same. You may see some improvement, but it is still a very low-end card. If you're going ot upgrade, its worth it to spend enough that you are sure you won't have to upgrade again inside the year.

If you're going to upgrade, but don't want to spend much more than $100, consider maybe a 9800 GT or an HD 4850? Both are far better than the two cards you're talking about.

However, ANY card worth upgrading to will require you to also upgrade your PSU. 300 watts really isn't enough for much of anything anymore. I'd look for a 500W or more. A decent one will run you $70 or so.|||well i think your gonna need more power supply wattage to handle those new and powerful graphic card and i would recommend at least the gtx 250
