What does "Video card does not have proper hardware to run" mean?

Ok I don't know anything about computers and I just got this one. So I download a game and it told me that the video card did not have proper hardware to run. What does this mean? How come I fix it? I have a Dell Latitude D610. Not sure if that really matters. I was told the computer was ready to run was I lied to?|||This means your video card is not strong enough. Unfortunately for a laptop you can't upgrade your video card without spending a lot of money but in this case, your Dell won't be able to be upgraded in video. The computer WAS ready to run and you weren't lied to but the power of your video card isn't good enough.
