How do i add a video card to a dell dimension 2400?

i have the computer above and the video card is integrated onto the motherboard and i need to remove it so i can install my new one...do you know how to remove the integrated one?|||You don't have to remove it...disable the onboard video card after you install the new one|||Oh my f**king god....... i have the same computer i gorra check if i have the same problem .... if i do dam ...............|||You cannot, it's integrated ( not removable ).. Sorry|||Just delete the video drivers, and install the new card.

Any problems check the bios (f8), and disable onboard graphics!|||I think what you are trying to say is that you are using onboard video and not a video card.

There are three types of video cards, PCI, PCI Express, and AGP

PCI and PCI express are the newer versions of slots which you will most likely have if you bought your computer within the 2 years.

AGP is older and is the slot you would have if your computer is older than two years.

here is a visual of what the difference is. http://www.pcstats.com/articleimages/200…

Once you know which slot you have the installation is very easy and there will be "custom" directions for your specific card included but the basic process is

1. Put in and install software and drivers

2. Power down and open up case removing old video card if any

3. Put in new videocard and make all power connections if any are needed

4. power up and make sure the BIOS recognizes it and your good to go
