How can I fix my black monitor screen when I installed "nvidia geforce 7950 gt video card"?

Hi everyone,

So my friend has just purchased a Nvidia geforce 7950 GT video card", and when he installed it, everything was correct. Execpt one minor problem, when he started his computer up, his comp made a funky sound and nothing would show on the monitor screen( pure black screen). But when he took it back out everything was back to normal, anyone know what could be the problem? Thanks|||1) if you were using the on-board graphics did you change this in the BIOS? If not, there's your trouble.

Good Luck|||Check the BIOS and see if there is a setting that sets which video adapter the system is supposed to use. Mine has three settings, onboard, VGA, or PCIe.|||So you inserted the card into your computer and plug the monitor into it. You booted up into windows and installed the drivers. When the computer was restarted the computer made usual noises and the screen would not show up. You took the card out and everything was fine again.

It sounds like a compatibility issue you have. Either from the software you just installed or the hardware on your computer.

What model and specs does your computer have? My advice is to find that out and check online to see if your new video card is right for your computer spec wise.
