it also said i need one that is compatable with Direct3D.
i want PEOPLE WITH EXPERIENCE to answer. should i take it to an electronics store to put a new one in, if so, where?
and what kind of video card should i get?|||What's the specific model of your laptop? Are you installing Windows Vista on your own (like upgrading from Windows XP)? Are you sure you have the correct driver installed? Is the driver fails to operate?
Laptop's graphic cards usually on-board so it makes (almost) impossible to upgrade it. If you know the specific model of your laptop, you should be able to research to find out what graphic card is used in your laptop so that you can find and install the graphic driver that is compatible to Windows Vista. Note that not all graphic card are compatible with Windows Vista.|||You will not be able to just swap in a new graphics card for your laptop. your laptop has an onboard graphics controller and it is soldered to oyur motherboard.
When we buy laptops we asume that they will do everyhting we want it to do. so my suggestion is, either think about buying a new laptop, or set the settings in vista to a lower setting. So instead of running areo try using the classic theme. this will aleviate oyur stressed graphics controller.
Also I suggest using a different screen scaver. the simple microsoft screensavers will do the job and they do not require an advance graphics card to run.
This is all I can offer at this time.|||Change the screen saver or get rid of it completely
