Can I use my Video Card without any supplementary power connectors?

Can i use a Nvidia Geforce GTX260 video card without connecting it with any supplementary power connector? If the answer is yes, does it affects the performance or anithing else?|||The answer is No

Power Requirements

GTX 260 models:

Minimum of a 500 Watt power supply

(Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 36 amps)

Two available 6 pin PCI-E power connectors|||DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS.

While a lower level card may be able to do this, but your card consumes tons of power. not giving it its supplement power connectors is basically killing your card. And as that card costs $250 to replace, it would be cheaper to get a 5 dollar adapter if you have no connector on your PSU, or just buy a new PSU|||I'm not sure what you mean by a "supplementary power connector". The GTX260 has two power connectors, neither of which is supplementary. They both provide the card its primary power source and must be connected.
