How can you install a video card without software or knowing what brand of video card it is?

i have already manually installed it into my computer it is an agp video card and its from my old computer that crashed. so im wondering if there is a way or program that can identify or instal a video card onto you computer so it knows it is there (im doing this so i can play the sims 3 but i cant afford right now to buy a new video card) please help if you can! thank you erikka.|||Run your Windows Updates and it should detect it. Open IE and go to Tools Windows Updates and follow the online directions for updating.|||Use Belarc Advisor. Look under display and it will tell you what kind of video card it is.

If it's not installed you'll have to take it out and look for the name and model number on it
