How do I update my video card?

I have a toshiba laptop and the video card is messed up. u play on the laptop for a while and th whole computer freezes and it has a colour on it. the on ly way is to hold the power button to turn of the laptop. So i took it to a techniction and he said its a video card problem. i think if i update my video card or sometin it will get fixed. its a toshiba laptop i can post additional info too.|||www.nvidia.com

Start>Run>dxdiag



Then download a new driver for your card off the companies website.|||"Video card problem" usually means get a new videocard. Since it's a laptop, you'll be better off either checking that your warranty is still available, or taking it in to get replaced.



To update your videocard, go to the videocard manufacturers site and download the proper driver. Make sure it's the right driver or you can screw it up even more.|||try here

if that dosent work you will have to replace the whole motherboard which is very difficult because now almost all graphics cards are integrated into the motherboard
